Dead World Chronicles

When you just don’t know what you’re talking about switch to a topic you do.

So editing of the deadworldchronicles.com book 1 continues. I have enough material for a complete novel and that’s pretty exciting. The problem is as I go back and edit the draft I realize two things. One I suck at spelling and grammar and two I really don’t know shit about how the military actually functions. It’s been rather challenging coming up with believable scenarios as the marine and army units fight to maintain control of the peninsula at the naval academy and the shipping ports in Annapolis. Laying out battles was more challenging than I thought. Its all about exciting characters and geography with a good story line. Characters no problem, geography I got maps, good story, well there is where it gets a little hairy. My lack of military knowledge and the systems and protocols they use is pretty limited having never served. Sure I have picked the brain of a lot of people and over the years I have ready enough books myself. The problem is my flow just lacks imagination. So with that said I have decided to write about something I do know, technology. Since I never really laid out a timeline of when the novel takes place that gives me a lot of liberty to “Create” new battlefield systems the Marines and Army units from Ft. Detrick can use in the fight against the infected. A little is taken from some known technology being researched by the DOD and the rest from my imagination.

Over the month of January, February I am going to post the edited versions of chapters 1-5 and unveil the rewritten chapters 6,7,8 and 9. “Little Big Horn”. Rowe,Rowe,Rowe your boat”(Rowe is a character), “Death to King George” and “Decatur’s last stand”. If everyone enjoys them I will rewrite 10, “Ego Alley” and then continue the story of Mr. Wallace and the Martinez duo.

The loss of the story of the battle of Annapolis and USAMRIID will by no means destroy the novel as a whole, but it will severely impact the future of the DeadWorldChronicles universe and I will have to rethink a lot of the future novels.

I will tell you book 2 Amusement is also being written at the same time by another author. Time will tell when we get our first chapters posted from him.

The framework of several other books in the series has been laid out, so it all comes down to time to write them. I can give you a preview of the future titles though.
